Humanities,
Science, and Technology
In Spring 2001,
the Choices and Challenges Project received a grant from
Virginia Tech's Center
for Innovation in Learning to develop module-based learning
activities as a resource for students and instructors of classes
in Humanities,
Science, and Technology (HST).
This section
of the website is designed specifically for those instructors and
students. However, all the resources are available to anyone who
might find them of use. Please let us
know what works and what doesn't in your classroom. What else would
you like to see?
- Learning
Module Activities will link to activities that can be used in
conjunction with the video excerpts from past Choices and Challenges
forums made available on this site:
- An Online
Discussion forum was created for each of the modules:
If you would like a separate forum for your classroom or community
group to use privately, please contact us at choices@vt.edu.
- Often, discussions
centered on films that deal with science, technology and society
jumpstart excellent conversations. We have compiled a list of
fiction and non-fiction
films that have worked in our classrooms at Virginia Tech.
- Additional
Resources (including recommended readings, related websites, and
the latest news) are available to accompany each module:
Check back often for new material.
Best wishes
for excellent conversations.
