2354: Humanities, Technology, and the Physical Sciences
Examines value-laden
issues involving physical science, in particular its moral and social
implications, its relationships to such institutions as church and
state, and the constraints on the scientist's religious, political,
academic, and scholarly expression. Typically, the course focuses
on developments in physics in American society, emphasizing their
interconnections with democratic values, military concerns, and
energy.
